WIFE SAVED, MARRIAGE SAVED, POLICE WORK BLESSED - Your Creation Research Ministry was pivotal in my wife Gill's conversion. At the time I was a believer, but not exactly walking the path. Gill was not a Christian and had a background in Spiritualism, and like many in the World had the usual hotch-potch of half baked Von Danikin "yes buts" when confronted with Scripture. Our marriage was sinking lower and lower, and I was thinking it wouldn't survive (be not unequally yoked) so I began to pray - something I hadn't done in a long time.
Around this time we got Christian TV, and John Mackay popped up in the original of three interviews on Revelation TV with Howard Condor. When I came home from work Gill said, "Sweetheart, you missed a good thing on Revelation today, there was some New Zealand bloke on, he was like Indiana Jones. He was really interesting, talking to Howard about Evolution." Something she knew I hated with a passion. I had always said to Gill, even in my back -slidden state, that if God is not the Creator, then he isn't God, and that if Genesis 1 is not literally true then why should we be obliged to believe any of the rest of the Bible.

Fortunately, we both saw the program repeated, and I thought "who on earth is this bloke?" All the beliefs about Creation I had clumsily outlined to my wife, between a beer and an argument, (I cringe to think now,) were suddenly being vindicated with authority, and obviously years of accrued scholarship, with a humility she could see. She was very impressed to say the least. Like so many, she had been brought up on 3 decades of Attenborough, and the Gospel according to the BBC et al. She had never heard anything like what she was hearing through these interviews and neither had I. The Church in England seemed so weak.

Gill was stunned when you showed pictures of fossil trees that ran straight through many strata of coal. Like everyone else, we had had the Evolutionary story of thousands of years for the laying down of each individual strata rammed down our throats for years. So to see this tree shocked her, and you had her attention. Anyway by the time she had watched all three programs she was a convinced Creationist, and angry she had been lied to for so long.

Once Gill had grasped that the God of the Bible really was Creator of all things, and that Genesis was literally true, everything else gradually fell into place. This was a woman who had once said to me that under no circumstances would she ever be baptised. She was later to turn around and actually ask to be baptised by full immersion. She now realises that Spiritualism is demonic, and truly loves the Lord. I now have a brand new wife who is well aware of Ephesians 5 etc. embraces it and loves it. She is a totally different woman.

My home has gone from unsustainably tense, to a slice of Eden. I could not have endured the atmosphere much longer. The LORD has rebuilt our marriage, renewed and deepened our love for each other, and given us so much hope that I understand perfectly the Psalmists words, "as the Deer pants for the water...”

I am a Police Officer, and work only with what are called PPO, (Prolific Priority Offenders) Class A Drug users. These are recidivist offenders, and mainly Heroin and crack addicts. Not exactly fertile ground for being able to come to a saving knowledge of the truth You would think, but I have loaned out numerous copies of your DVDs and other material and three of them have accepted Jesus as Saviour. Two have been off drugs for over 18 months, and one is now working full-time and direct debiting monthly to a good Christian ministry. The third, a 28 year old girl has been to church on three consecutive Sundays and is finding it powerful and relevant.

We thank the LORD for raising you up, and for your faithful ministry that punches massively above its weight. The Lord, through you His servant, has impacted our lives eternally, and the lives of many around us. THANK YOU John for your faithful witness to the truth. It is so needed in this Godless country.
