NEW
ZEALAND DEBATE crowd
filled the North Harbour Stadium conference centre 15TH November
FOR Prof Paul Rainey vs John Mackay. One
Science teacher present (christian) reported "Personally
I found Prof. Rainer very evasive and to be honest I don't
think it was an equal debate. You were definitely in possession
of more facts while he came only from his biological test tube
which was so lacking and not convincing. I find it difficult
to believe that he is the "expert" in evolution at
Auckland Uni which one uni student attending seemed to think
he was. He evaded completely the question of evidence of missing
links with the nonchalant, "read the information for yourself"
it's all there. I did feel a little sympathy for him when he
couldn't recall the name of the ape/human link Australopithecus.
I was
taken back by the audacity of his statement that evolution
is considered "fact" and was tempted to ask the
question why the Natural History Museum in Kensington in its
Hall on the Origin of life clearly
states:
The Theory of Evolution and The Theory of Creation.
Several
non Christians who came with us (both doctors) were also disappointed
with the weakness of Prof Rainey's argument. I had some of
my students in tow. They loved it by the way and I had a great
opportunity to explain the gospel on the way home. It was
a tremendous turn out well done John." |
