Sir Richard Owen (1804-1892) was the founder of the Natural History Museum in London and professor of Comparative Anatomy and Physiology. He was a world leading expert in fossils, and coined the word “dinosaur”. He was also a fierce opponent of Darwin’s theory of evolution, and made the following comment:

“But, as we have before been led to remark, most of Mr Darwin's statements elude, by their vagueness and incompleteness, the test of Natural History facts.
